STAIN Teungku Dirundeng Launches PPL and PLP Prep: A Leap Toward Professionalism and Creativity
Meulaboh – The Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at STAIN Teungku Dirundeng Meulaboh held a briefing session for students set to embark on their Field Experience Practice (PPL) and Professional Training Practice (PLP) on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
The event, themed “Sharpening Professionalism and Enhancing Creativity through the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum,” was inaugurated by Dr. Erizar, M.Ed, Vice Chair I for Academic Affairs and Institutions. He underscored the significance of professionalism and creativity for aspiring educators. “Through PPL and PLP, students are expected to apply the knowledge they have gained during their studies and adapt to the dynamics in the field,” Dr. Erizar stated.
In his remarks, the Head of the Faculty, Dr. Hasnadi, M.Pd, emphasized the importance of this briefing as a crucial step for students to hone their competencies. “We hope that participants seize this opportunity to learn and grow into creative and professional educators, in line with the demands of the independent curriculum. Moreover, I hope the students’ presence in the schools where they will practice serves as a beacon of light, bringing new enthusiasm and upholding the good name of our alma mater. This is your chance to demonstrate your quality and dedication as outstanding future educators,” Dr. Hasnadi added.
The event was attended by 81 students from various study programs within the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, including the English Education Study Program (TBI). These students will soon begin their practice in several schools and educational institutions across Aceh Barat Regency.
Following the opening session, the briefing continued with presentations from the Heads of Study Programs within the Faculty. They provided in-depth insights into various aspects that students need to understand before undertaking PPL and PLP, including classroom management, teaching strategies based on the independent curriculum, and fostering creativity in the learning process.
They highlighted the importance of adapting to the independent curriculum and how students can utilize it to create a dynamic and innovative learning environment. At the end of the event, participants were briefed on their placements and responsibilities during PPL and PLP, with a special emphasis on the importance of responsibility and discipline, which are key to success in field practice.
The briefing session ran smoothly and was met with high enthusiasm from the participants. It is hoped that this event has equipped students with sufficient preparation to successfully undertake PPL and PLP, as well as to face the various challenges in the field of education with innovation and creativity.
